Questions and answers

Tales & Tails is a book diary for Ukrainian readers: library, reading tracking, smart recommendations, reports, and challenges. The app is free; Nine Tails costs 99 UAH per month or 799 UAH per year.

It is where your reading history lives: which books you read, when, how they felt, and what you want to read next. Paper diaries get lost — the app keeps everything.

Tales & Tails is available for iOS and Android, and the web app runs on tablet and desktop in the browser.

Install the app, add your first book — photograph the cover or find it in the catalog — and log your first reading session. The fox guides you from there.

They build on your ratings, genres, and reading history. The more you read and rate, the sharper the suggestions.

Reading challenges with rewards — monthly and seasonal. They help make reading a habit, with no pressure and no deadlines.

Goodreads is a global, English-first social network for books. Tales & Tails is a Ukrainian book diary first: Ukrainian interface, hryvnia pricing, Ukrainian books. Following other readers is optional and off by default — you publish reviews, currently reading, or your library only by turning each category on. Introvert mode hides the social side of the app from you without changing what others may see.

Rork is a Ukrainian tracker built around a feed, reactions, and community. Tales & Tails is a personal diary first: library, tracking, reports, and a fox keeper. You can follow readers and share a shelf or a review if you want to — nothing is public until you opt in. If you do not want to watch anyone, Introvert mode hides follows, profiles, and social notifications from your screens.

Introvert mode hides the social side of Tales & Tails from you: follower counts, follow buttons, lists, and social notifications. Your diary, library, tracking, and reports stay. It does not change who can see you — publishing each category stays off until you turn it on. You can stay findable for friends and still not watch. The same settings switch always stays visible so you can turn the mode off.

The core features are free forever. Nine Tails costs 99 UAH per month or 799 UAH per year — the same plan billed at different frequencies. The ninth tail unlocks unlimited reports, reading goals, and bookshelves, and styling your shelves your own way. There are no ads in the app on any plan.

In the web app, anytime: Профіль → Підписка → Скасувати підписку (Profile → Subscription → Cancel subscription). Nine Tails stays active until the end of the paid period, then you return to the free plan and all your data stays.

Yes. Data is stored in secure cloud infrastructure (AWS, Stockholm region), accessible only through your account. You can export your data or delete your account in the app, under Профіль → Обліковий запис (Profile → Account).

No. The app has no ads at all — not on the free plan, not on Nine Tails. That is a matter of principle: the diary is your quiet space. The free plan only limits the number of reports, goals, and bookshelves, and leaves out shelf styling.
